All Secular Census registrants are nonbelievers -- skeptical of supernatural claims, including those associated with religion. (That's the affirmation given at registration.) But is that the same as calling all registrants atheists? As it turns out, yes and no.
Yes -- the majority of registrants are comfortable using the word atheist to describe themselves. But many other labels also suit, too, they tell us -- until it's time to narrow it down to just one, primary identity. Suddenly, it's all about the A word.
